Hybrid superwetting surfaces with wedge-shaped superhydrophilic patterns that can transport droplets spontaneously are designed and fabricated to enhance drop-wise condensation, as demonstrated by Xiaolong Yang, Di Zhu, and co-workers in article number 2100284. The pattern design is optimized based on dynamic behavior of droplet transporting and condensing performance, which has great potential applications in developing new heat transfer devices, water desalination facilities, etc.
