The extraordinary properties and potential applications in the fields of electronics and optoelectronics of black phosphorene have aroused great research interests in other group‐V elemental monolayers, including two‐dimensional arsenene and antimonene. By first‐principles calculations, monolayer α‐arsenene/antimonene is found to have direct band gap of 1.58 eV/0.26 eV respectively. Significant absorption ranging from the visible to ultraviolet region is observed in α‐antimonene, which may lead to the potential application as a broad saturable absorber.
