A noble metal‐free Mn2O3 catalyst with porous structure exhibits activity in the oxygen reduction reaction that is comparable to a commercial Pt/C catalyst (20% Pt loading) and, notably, higher than those of other Mn‐based oxides, such as Mn3O4 and MnO2, as well as superior stability. In light of the low cost and high earth abundance of Mn, the highly active Mn2O3 is a promising candidate to be used as a cathode material in metal‐air batteries and alkaline fuel cells.
