The Cover demonstrates the mechanism of NO reduction to N2 in the Di‐Air de‐NOx system based on the ceria model catalyst. In their Communication, Wang et al. have proven that NO dissociates on oxygen anion defects of ceria, thereby refilling these vacancies with oxygen anions and forming N2. The oxidation of deposited carbon by oxygen species originating from ceria lattice oxygen re‐creates oxygen defect for NO reduction to N2. Our work, therefore, provides an alternative view on the role of hydrocarbons in the reduction of NO to N2. More information can be found in the Communication by Wang et al. on page 102 in Issue 1, 2016 (DOI: 10.1002/cctc.201501038).
