Silver nanoparticles (AgNP) inevitably interact with ongoing anthropogenic artifi cial light at night (ALAN) in aquatic ecosystems, resulting in remarkable alterations in AgNP toxicity. ALAN alleviates the negative eff ect of AgNP on microbial decomposers and leaf litter decomposition here.
