Designing novel bispecifi c Janus silica nanosheets could simultaneously remove co-existing 2,6-dichlorophenol and Pb(II) ion from sewage by integrating two diff erent artifi cial receptors (MIPs and thiol functional sites). The asymmetric Janus structure allows bispecifi c artifi cial receptors to be compartmentalized onto distinct surfaces without interacting, and each component of the adsorbent has a crucial role in its functioning, which helps to further extend the behavior and mechanism study of the co-contamination removal.
